M32 Bearing failure and case damage
The M32 gearbox is a very popular unit that is fitted to a number of GM vehicles including Vauxhall and Opel, but also fitted by numerous other manufacturers This unit is a common sight in the workshop as they seem to suffer with excessive bearing wear and damage to the casing caused by premature failure. In our experience these gearboxes seem to suffer considerable bearing wear long before what we deem to be acceptable when comparing them to similar vehicles that are not fitted with this gearbox. We believe the pre-load levels set from the factory on the bearings to be a contributing factor and therefore we have revised the tolerances and can now offer updated settings free of charge with any full set of bearings fitted. We still use high quality OEM parts but we have found that combined with our new settings we have increased the longevity of these units, whilst keeping the cost to the consumer low.
